The EVO-STIK Southern League started off the 2017/18 season with a flurry of activity throughout August. There were plenty of teams in contention for the Club of the Month accolades right up until the final weekend - but there could only be three winner. Step forward, Banbury United, AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Taunton Town.
Banbury boss Mike Ford will have been delighted to start the season off with an unbeatable opening record of 5 wins on the bounce, as the Puritans ended August with a rock-solid goal difference of +15.
In the second tier, AFC Rushden & Diamonds emerged as the powerhouses of the East - seizing 10 points from their opening 12 to lead the division, as well as scoring 13 goals in the process. To round off their stunning months, they even made it through the Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round unscathed.
Finally, in the EVO-STIK League South, West - there was no shortage of wins for Taunton Town. Under the supervision of manager Leigh Robinson, Taunton went unbeaten throughout August with four wins from four.

The winners for September’s EVO-STIK League South’s Club of the Month accolades should have come as no surprise to anyone closely following the league - as Hereford, Ashford Town (Middx) and Swindon Supermarine collected the cut-glass trophies.
Under the watchful eye of manager Peter Beadle, Hereford stormed to four wins from four - even reaching the Fourth Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup on their way to 12 well-earned points.
In the East, meanwhile, Ashford Town (Middx) followed a similar winning streak, taking all 9 points on offer from the three September games - and even averaging the best points per game along the way. Oh, and did we mention they fired their way into the FA Cup’s Third Round Qualifying too?
Rounding up the month’s achievements in the League South, West was Swindon Supermarine. The Team, along with gaffer Dave Webb not only took three wins from three - but didn’t let in a single goal along the way! A clean sheet meant a busy trophy cabinet though, thanks to their Club of the Month award.
October was another busy month for the EVO-STIK Southern League, which meant it was an even greater achievement for Slough Town, Moneyfields and Taunton Town to scoop the Club of the Month awards across the three leagues.
First up in the Premier Division were trophy-winners Slough Town, who had the supervision of joint-managers Jon Underwood and Neil Baker to thank for finishing the month unbeaten - as well as getting to the next round of the FA Trophy, not to mention the Emirates FA Cup and the BigFreeBet.Com Challenge Cup too!
Secondly, Moneyfields picked up this season’s third East Division Club of the Month award thanks to a storming October where they picked up nine points from a possible nine - managing the best average points per game record.
Not to be beaten to the punch in the West, Taunton Town pick up their second award in a row thanks to their top-tier performances, combining their league results with progressing to the next round of the FA Cup Trophy and BigFreeBet.Com Challenge Cup.
As the year rapidly headed towards its end, the EVO-STIK Southern League continued to pick out the month’s best teams and performers across the 68 clubs in the Southern League’s three divisions.
Hereford continued their fine form in the Premier Division, adding November’s Club of the Month award to the one they already racked up back in September, thanks to an unbeaten month packed with points and, of course, goals galore.
Hereford weren’t the only team to repeat a previous month’s achievements in November, however, as AFC Rushden & Diamonds in the East also matched their trophy from August with another here - again for going unbeaten all month.
Rounding off the awards in the South, West Wimborne Town managed their first Club of the Month award of the season thanks to an impressive month. If they keep up their form, they’ll be picking up another one soon enough!
AFC Rushden & Diamonds
The final awards of 2017 went out with a bang as Premier Division playoff hopefuls Weymouth went unbeaten through the whole of the festive season - earning themselves an unbeatable score on average points per match to scoop the award. We wish them the best of luck in their promotion efforts!
Moving to the East Division, current table toppers AFC Rushden and Diamonds followed up their November win by going unbeaten throughout the entirety of December to collect the Gambling Kingz Club of the Month Award again!
And finally, fellow table-toppers (in the East Division) Taunton Town sealed their award, following a string of impressive wins, in particular over close league rivals Salisbury.
